Gud show Ghana

Okay, so today I woke up to the gud news that the world bank ranks ghana as one of the best (or was it the very best) countries in Africa to do business. The news is that we are reformers. Gud and big deal for the government and all the people of my beloved fatherland (prefer to call it motherland). No gender implications intended.

Feels gud to be part of the making of this record especially as I have been one of the yound crusader (among friends) that we stay home and help build Ghana. The economic indeces are gud and the policy framework is fast changing to accommodate a better business climate.

I have some concerns though and if somebody is listening( reading) let her tell my country that we could do with better security for the innocent citizen so we dont always have to look over the shoulder for who is preparing to attack you for your phone or who is preparing to attack you because they are in some state security uniform. Our security agents cud do a whole better if they concentrate on protecting state and citizen rather than venting their frustrations on poor us at the least provocation.

Well of course, we cud do with a little less bribery in the system. Yes people are so afraid of the police because it takes just 50 pesewas (50 american cents) to dispose of the traffic police who may have cought you recklessly driving. We are safe, that what the politicians tell us. But i just wish they would pay the police well enough so they are not so cheap in the face of citizens.

Investors and tourists need to feel secure before sinking precious Ghana cedis into the economy and not a police officer who is gullibe even in the face of less than a dollar.

Gud show Ghana but help. Am feeling toppled over with disappointment in the police service.

Love Ghana though
